Our First Contributors!

Before there was a Contribution Recap, before there was a submission form, before anyone even knew contributions would become a cornerstone of Craft Roulette, Vicki Emmerson and Vicky Logan simply decided to play along.

After Episode 2 aired, these two crafters took it upon themselves to create their own projects using the challenge parameters and posted them in the Facebook comments on the original video. Without any prompt or invitation, they saw the FUNN in the challenge and jumped right in.

We were so delighted by their initiative that it sparked an idea: what if everyone could participate? This spontaneous act of creativity led directly to the creation of the Contribution Recap in Episode 4, transforming Craft Roulette from a show into a true community challenge.

Vicki and Vicky didn't just contribute to an episode—they helped shape the very heart of what Craft Roulette would become. Their enthusiasm and willingness to play along set the standard for the tens of thousands of contributions that would follow.

Thank you, Vicki and Vicky, for being the spark that lit the fire of our amazing community!

The Heart of the Community

Jacque R. was there from the very beginning. She contributed her first card in June 2020, just months after Craft Roulette launched, and quickly became one of the show's most beloved community members.

Along with her friend Janet F. (who would go on to create the Card Exchange), Jacque was part of "The J-Team"—the original watch party crew who tuned in faithfully for every episode. In those early days when the show had only about 15 regular viewers, Jacque and her crew made up a significant portion of that audience. Jacque had a wonderful way of making her presence known, often commenting, "OK, I'm here, you can start now." Her enthusiasm was so infectious that Mary added a checkered start flag to the studio wall in her honor—a tribute that remains to this day.

But what truly set Jacque apart was her kindness. She commented on every single card with genuine, thoughtful words. When Mary asked her how she managed to find something meaningful to say about each contribution, Jacque's answer was simple perfection: "I look at the first thing I like, and comment on that." This approach became a guiding principle that Mary shares with Member Guests to this day.

Jacque passed away in 2022, but her legacy of kindness, encouragement, and showing up for others lives on in every comment, every contribution, and every act of support within the Craft Roulette community.

Thank you, Jacque, for teaching us that the simplest kindness can have the most lasting impact.

President of the DeCoy Duck Fan Club

Debbie O joined our community as a contributor in 2023, and while her faithful and charming card contributions have been a delight, it's her unwavering dedication to a certain feathered friend that has truly left her mark on Craft Roulette.

Debbie is the self-proclaimed President of the DeCoy Duck Fan Club, and she has single-handedly elevated our quirky character from an occasional appearance as a decoy in our "In Revue Whodunit Game" to a full-fledged Craft Roulette icon. Through Debbie's passion and advocacy, DeCoy Duck became the centerpiece of an entire pod at our inaugural Paperganza event in 2025, complete with t-shirts, tumblers, and 3D images for fans to enjoy.

Thanks to Debbie, we've all learned that "Quack means 'Good Luck' in Duck"—a phrase that has become part of our community's lexicon. At Paperganza, guests, vendors, and staff alike had the opportunity to become card-carrying DeCoy Duck Fan Club members, creating a moment of pure FUNN that only Debbie could have imagined.

But Debbie's impact goes even deeper. Her belief in celebrating the special people and moments that make our community unique inspired us to create this very Hall of Fame.

Thank you, Debbie, for bringing DeCoy Duck to life, for your infectious enthusiasm, and for reminding us that sometimes the most unexpected things bring us the most joy and FUNN.

Janet F.

The Connector

Janet F was part of "The J-Team," the original watch party crew alongside her friend Jacque R, who showed up faithfully for Craft Roulette in those early days when we had just 15 regular viewers.

But Janet's lasting contribution came from a simple, brilliant idea: what if our community members could exchange cards with each other? In June 2021, Janet created the Card Exchange as a spreadsheet, starting with 15 participants. When it grew to 20 members that same month, she was thrilled. What began as Janet's grassroots initiative has blossomed into something extraordinary—the exchange now has 197 active members and over 18,000 card commitments.

Janet was also an early Patron supporter of Craft Roulette, joining not because of her own cardmaking passion, but because of her friendship and belief in what we were building. Her support meant the world to us during those foundational days.

Janet saw the potential for our community to connect beyond the screen, to send tangible pieces of creativity and encouragement to each other through the mail. The Card Exchange has become one of the most cherished aspects of Craft Roulette, fostering friendships, and spreading joy one card at a time.

For her forward-thinking vision and her dedication to bringing our community closer together, we honor Janet F.
