Biography
Ellen Jarvis, aka “CardMonkey”, began cardmaking 10 years ago, right after she bought a high-end sewing/embroidery machine, software, threads and fabric for a new post-retirement hobby. The sewing machine started collecting dust within weeks, after her daughter Emily introduced her to Cricut and papercrafting.
Ellen’s greatest joy is teaching the craft’s techniques to other hobbyists. She has taught cardmaking at several stores, in her home, at a church and senior centers, and now continues her teaching bimonthly cardmaking classes via Zoom.
Ellen is currently an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! She formerly worked full-time in public relations and marketing for several hospitals in the Philadelphia area, before retiring in 2012. She is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia. She has been married to hubby John for 21 years; their family includes a son, a daughter, their spouses, two grandchildren and two Bichons.
